Christopher Buckle is a Hip & Knee surgeon. He was in need of branding and a website for his business.

We explored many different ways of visualising his brand, playing on visual cues hinting towards joints, freedom of movement as well as more classic medical iconography .

Eventually landing on a visual identity which felt approachable, trustworthy and professional.

Initial exploration into form and shapes under the themes of freedom of movement, hinge joints and the synonomous ‘+’ symbol in healthcare.

After whittling it down to a few routes, one exploring the theme of movement through the form of the notorious cursive (and sometimes illegible!) doctor’s handwriting, we settled on more refined,  cleaner approach using the ‘+’ symbol to suggest joints.

Below are a few pages from the final brand guidelines created for the client, including a visual element created by using forms found within the brand symbol.

We avoided shades of green when developing the colour palette, opting for a dark blue paired with accent colours of yellow and orange to speak to both positivity and energy.

The Brand Symbol can be used in several ways to form layouts for brand messaging or social content.

We then set about bringing the site to life, agreeing on a wireframe and structure for the site, before building it in Framer. Below is a screenrecording of the site:
